Chi Alpha Mu Inducts 38
Chi Alpha Mu, the national junior mathematics club for middle and junior high school students, inducted 38 new members.
The club, named for Creative Adventures in Mathematics, was founded in 1967 and reactivated by the high school math society, Mu Alpha Theta, in 2008 to promote enjoyment and understanding of mathematics by middle school students.
Eighth-grade Owls must have a weighted grade point average of 4.5 or better over seven quarters of math to join the society. Seventh-grade students must have a weighted GPA of 4.5 or better over three quarters of math to gain admittance.
