Robotics Competes at Home Tournament

Two Owl teams came away with awards during the Final Flight VEX Robotics Tournament at MUS on Saturday, February 28.
Team 99331W – composed of Ben Chambers ’30, Prateek Damera ’31, Aarav Jain ’32, Aahil Raza ’31, and Mohid Salman ’29 – earned the Judges Award, which goes to the team displaying special attributes, exemplary effort, or perseverance.

Team 99331M – made up of Ibraheem Awan ’32, Rishabh Bag ’30, Aaron Chiang ’30, Charlie Irwin ’30, and Mac Wilson ’29 – won the Design Award, which recognizes a team's ability to document and explain their engineering design process. This team qualified to compete at the VEX Tennessee State Tournament March 13-14.

Forty-two teams competed at the event, including four from MUS. Teams came from throughout the Mid-South and Tennessee to test their merit against the best of the best. Thanks to Instructor in Science Garrett Smithson, assisted by Instructor in Science Nick Blackwell and a host of volunteers, for making the event happen.
