Students Garner 139 Awards on Latin Exam

Special recognition goes to 16 students who earned perfect scores this year: Abdullah Khawaja ’27, Andrew Anand ’28, Harrison Evers ’28, Ethan Ferdinand ’28, Nat Harris ’28, Mustafa Mirza ’28, Knox Sims ’28, Joseph Zhao ’28, Hudson Bobo ’29, Wallace Bradshaw ’29, James Byrd ’29, Kushal Das ’29, Patrick Du ’29, Graydon Hobson ’29, Wells Martin ’29, and Musa Khawaja ’30.

Students who score above the national average qualify for recognition. Generally, the top 10 to 15% of students nationwide earn Summa Cum Laude, and the next 10 to 15% receive Maxima Cum Laude.

The Bubones were among 100,000 Latin students from all 50 states and the District of Columbia as well as 20 other countries who took the exam.

There are several testing levels, including Intermediate Reading Comprehension (IRC1), Advanced Reading Comprehension (ARC1), Advanced Poetry 1 (APO1), Intermediate Latin (IL1), and Beginning Latin 1 and 2 (BL1 and BL2).
