CSO Service Week 2026: Sept. 12-20
While Civic Service Organization volunteers approach each week as an opportunity to serve, extra focus and energy are poured into Parent Back-to-School/Service Week each year.
See the following outstanding opportunities available for students:
September 12: Volunteers will host a food distribution event on campus Saturday, September 12, 8:30 -11 a.m. CSO and Mid-South Food Bank will provide a week’s worth of groceries to hundreds of Memphis families in need. Meet in the Humphreys Hall circle drive. There will be chicken biscuits and chocolate milk for the volunteers. All MUS students, faculty, and their families are invited to help.

September 18: Upper School students will cook a wild game feast during the school day using donated meat from Owls in Hunters for the Hungry on Friday, September 18. We'll serve the feast and fellowship with the guests of Room in the Inn at Calvary Episcopal Church, 102 North Second Street, 4:30-6:30 p.m. US students can help with the cooking on campus, the serving at Calvary, or both.
September 19: CSO Owls will host a sports festival and cookout for the students at Emmanuel Center (604 Saint Paul Avenue) on Saturday, September 19, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
September 20: Finally, students will cook and serve lunch for residents of The Salvation Army Purdue Center of Hope (696 Jackson Avenue) on Sunday, September 20, 10 a.m. - noon. All Upper School students are invited to help feed our neighbors in need.
