Lower School Students Flourish in MathCounts
Lower School Owls shined among 150 students in this year’s University of Memphis MathCounts competition.
Andrew Mao ’31 finished first in the individual testing and tournament-style “Countdown Round,” where the top 16 mathletes went head-to-head. He advanced to the state competition where he will compete individually.
The Owls math squad consisting of Mao, Julian Kang ’32, Kelvin Jiang ’31, and Peilin Liu ’31 placed second in the team testing round.
Thanks to Albert Ding ’26 for his assistance alongside Instructor in Mathematics Steve Gadbois.
