Owls Thrive at Language Fair

Congratulations to the Latin students who earned recognition at the University of Memphis Language Fair.
The Culture Bowl team comprising seniors Joshua Gramm, Wilson Pace, and George Willmott defeated a strong Houston High School squad 360-340 to take first place. Chair of Classical and Modern Languages Ryan Sellers received the Culture Bowl Teacher honor.

Owls also won 11 of the 14 Latin translation contest awards, competing in levels one through five.

The Language Fair brings high school students to Memphis to celebrate and demonstrate their skills in world languages. Students participate in poetry recitation, music, drama, crafts, and a culture bowl, showcasing their abilities in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Latin, Russian, and Spanish.
