Alexander Receives Princeton Certificate

Carson Alexander ’27 was honored with the Certificate of Accomplishment by the Princeton Prize and Race Relations Committee on May 12.
The mission of the committee is to identify and recognize high school students who significantly engage and challenge their schools or communities to advance racial equity and promote respect and understanding among all people.

President of the MUS Tearing Down the Walls Club, Alexander is also a member of Bridges (youth connection and leadership organization), and the Facing History & Ourselves Student Leadership Group. He has spoken in chapel in celebration of Black History Month, including a multimedia presentation earlier this year on the evolution of line dancing within African American culture.

He expressed gratitude to faculty advisors of the Tearing Down the Walls Club: Mrs. Michele Cacippo, Mrs. Elizabeth Colbeck, Mrs. Candy Harris, Dr. Jonathan Jones, Mr. Chima Onwuka, and Ms. Ashley Webb.

“I would be remiss if I did not take the opportunity to thank each and every one of you for how much you have poured into me. Ever since the beginning of this club my freshman year, I have been fortunate and grateful for all the support and advice that I have received. Thank you so much for everything you do.”
